One might say that doing a QnA is a bit egotistical when I barely have any followers across my social media. Let's pretend for a moment I'm the most fascinating person in the world, simply for being an overly passionate Blinx fan. I'm sure someone out there would agree with me. I asked the members of Blinx Corps to send me questions to my Curious Cat account. After discarding all the dumb meme-related questions, I'm left with just under 20 questions. Introductory paragraphs aside, let's get right into it. Are you going to answer every one of these questions? Absolutely not. How old are you? 20. How tall are you? Just above 150 cm, fun-sized. How long have you been a fan of Blinx? I can’t say for sure as I’ve been a Blinx fan since I was young, but the earliest point where my passion for Blinx started was at age 12, all the way back in 2010. To answer the question, I’ve been a dedicated Blinx fan for almost 8 years. Hypothetically, if you were able to change blinx 2 in any way, how would your ideal version be different? what would be the same? To preface, I have a great fondness for MOTAS and out of the two Blinx games, is the one I played the most. Of course, I do have a lot of criticisms. I could write an essay on what I would change about the sequel but I’ll list off some of the main points:
Why is Picaro your favorite non-Blinx Sweeper character in Blinx 2? Here’s why I think Picaro is best boy (out of the supporting Time Sweeper cast but not including Blinx because Blinx will always be the best character of the series but out of Picaro, Chron, NecoJi and Pelon he’s my favourite). In MOTAS, Picaro is essentially the comic relief character. He’s hot-tempted, doesn’t give a shit and has that purple and black aesthetic I love. As I was developing and expanding the Blinx characters’ personalities through my art, Picaro became my favourite character to draw. He was the character I chose when I was drawing a particularly weird scenario. At some point, I started shipping Picaro with Blinx because of an off-hand joke so his hot temper was translated to sexual frustrations and unrequired love (poor guy haha). And not gonna lie, gay characters are fun to work with which made Picaro even more of a favourite for me. To me, Picaro is one of the most expressive characters of the series, only surpassed by Blinx. Why or What makes the Blinx universe so attractive/interesting to you? This question is weirdly enough, one the hardest for me to answer for some reason. I feel that no matter how much I write, I won't be able to suffieciently explain why I find the Blinx universe so interesting. I guess the least I can say is that I appreiciate how much potential it has. Most areas of the Blinx universe can be explored and expanded, but you can't just interpret it in any direction you please. The relatively strict rules of the universe determine what is and isn't possible in the Blinx universe, and working within these limitations makes things a lot more fun. Another thing which I think makes the Blinx universe stand out is how almost everything is both light-hearted and melanchoic. Blinx, for example, is an adorable cat who wears a blue jacket but said jacket is a protective double-layer uniform that protects him from the dangers of the worlds he visits everyday. He can die multiple times and day and would probably develop PTSD if it wearn't a G rated game series. Get what I'm saying? Out of all the sweeper models, which one do you like best? The TS-16000 LV3, super slick model. I appreciate that it was brought over from TTS to MOTAS and is implied to be the standard LV3 model within the Time Factory. Do you believe in the future there will be a 'romantic' relationship for Keiko? Either with another character of your own design or shipped with that of another Blinx fan? Just asking if thats even a thing that can happen. Interesting question. For those of you who don’t know, Keiko is my signature Blinx fan character. She’s a friendly and enthusiastic Time Sweeper with a love for baking and chocolate chip cookies. Alongside her teammates of my own creation, she’s also friends with a number of Fan Sweepers owned by other Blinx fans. Keiko’s current main romantic love interest is Ian, her best friend and teammate. Ian is an absolute bean and this is a weird statement to make as the creator, but I basically ship Keiko with him. She’s also the romantic interest of another person’s fan character, so this can be considered a canon ‘romantic’ relationship as well. She's a pretty flexible character so I think the potential for romantic relationships with other characters is still there. Who is your favorite Blinx fan character? Keiko? I don’t think I have a favourite Blinx fan character that is one I didn't create. As much as I like Blinx fan characters in general, I’m not all that invested in anyone else’s characters except my own. So Keiko is basically my favourite character. Call me biased, but I think Keiko is one of the more interesting characters so she’d probably be my favourite anyway. Will KoJi ever be developed into a real character? Drew the demon child, I hope you're happy. Aside from Blinx, what are your favorite games? Out of the games I grew up with, the party game Fuzion Frenzy is one of my favourite original Xbox games alongside Blinx. My favourite game on the DS is Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time. I played as Skitty on my first playthrough (big surprise) and my partner was Cyndaquil. I’ve played the game from start to finish multiple times now. The one PC game that I’ve spent the most time on is Sims 3. Too lazy to not be anonymous, so I'll just do a heads up and note you that I'm PARTNERiNTiME! Anyways... Your favorite video game felines? List as many as you can! I mean, it would take less characters not mentioning who you are at all but okay. First off, obvious choice number one would be Bl- Oh, and one more thing about the question about fave VG felines: Please refrain from listing BLiNX, whether it concerns official characters or fan characters; that would be too obvious Well now that’s just cold. My favourite cat Pokémon are Skitty and Luxray. I’m not a huge Sonic fan by any means, but Blaze the Cat needs more game appearances damnit. Yeah I don’t know a lot of cats in video games. A lot of my favourite cats are either real life cats or iconic characters like Pusheen. Are you trash, do you suck real hard but is that okay? It’s my reality that will not be substituted. Bullied any 12 year olds on the internet lately? I recently bullied a kid into silence after I said I could understand what she was typing. Do you think Blinx matches the general definition of a quote unquote "furry"? Blinx is an anthropomorphic cat that looks like a human, talks, walks on two legs, has human emotions and has a job. Sounds pretty furry to me. What is your drawing setup like? Tablet, Software, etc. I draw on a hybrid 2-in1 laptop. It’s bulky but it does the job. I’m considering buying a proper screen tablet one day. My current art program of choice is FireAlpaca. It’s free and I recommend it if you like Paint Tool SAI. Colour correction and general edits I do in GIMP. How did you get your art style? I started drawing in primary school and I mostly drew Pokémon (my favourite Pokémon to draw was Ninetales). Once my household got internet access, I joined a Sonic Fan Characters fanclub and of course, the Time Factory Forums. I also created a DeviantArt account where I posted my Sonic, Pokemon and Blinx fanart. Over time the Sonic and Pokemon art faded out. Anime was also a huge factor in the development of my art style, mostly in how I draw humans but I think the Time Sweepers takes some aspects of anime too. There were a few artists I looked up to but for some reason they all deleted their accounts or got involved in drama so I can’t really mention them here. While it's can be pretty much left unsaid, the style of the Blinx games will be my biggest inspiration. I would like to think that my current art style partially mimics the style of the Blinx games though I can’t say for sure. My art style has remained pretty much the same as when I first started but is much more polished. Well that was fun. Answering these questions took me a while but I'm glad I did. I tried to draw more art for this QnA blog but it ended up looking like crap so... I hope a catgirl with glasses and an underdeveloped joke character was enough.
Until next time then.
