A quick guide to playing TTS and MOTAS in Gen 8. Here’s a guide to help you run Blinx: The Time Sweeper and Blinx 2: Master of Time and Space in 2019. For some of you reading, you can finally play that cute time cat platformer that you missed out on because you didn’t know it existed at the time. OG XboxIf you have an OG Xbox that isn’t gathering dust in the garage, you can play the games on their release platform, obviously. Also the only way to play MOTAS so if you wanted to mess around with the character creator you’re going to have to get your hands on said console. Xbox 360Don’t. (The frame rate is trash. Both games, both disc and store versions.) Xbox OneFor players who have an Xbone and either don’t own a copy of TTS or want to experience the game in the best quality, this is your best and most accessible option. You can either put your TTS disc right into the Xbone or purchase a copy from the Microsoft Store for 10 USD. Here’s some footage from the Xbone version. Sadly, MOTAS is currently not playable on Xbone because the people at Microsoft are cowards. Emulation (cxbx-r)Currently, OG Xbox emulation is not yet at a stage where the Blinx games are playable (we’re talking like 0.5 fps).
Cxbx-R has made great progress over the last two years so once the vertex buffer cache is implemented, the games will start running more smoothly. For now, though, you’d probably want to check up on emulation progress next year or contribute to its development if you’re impatient.
