Gold
Gold (often abbreviated as 'G') is the currency featured in Blinx: The Time Sweeper and Blinx 2: Masters of Time and Space. It is used by both Time Sweepers and the Tom Tom Gang.
Blinx: The Time Sweeper
"Gold crystals are often confused with time crystals, though they are not the same. You collect gold crystals to earn money. They do not help or hinder in making valid time control combinations."
- Time Factory Worker's Safety Guide, Blinx: The Time Sweeper Gold can be found in every round apart from Momentopolis. It can be found in various sizes (which correspond to how much each piece is worth) and shapes, sharing the same shapes as time crystals; the only obvious difference being the gold's gleaming colour and size difference. Its only use is as currency, allowing Blinx to buy new equipment, items or clothing once he has collected enough. It is also awarded to Blinx at the end of each stage if he has trash left in his sweeper; each trash piece worth a different amount of gold ranging from 1G - 100G. After defeating time monsters bosses, a large amount of gold appears from the point where the boss fell, though this gold disappears after a few seconds if not collected quickly enough. A trick to collect it all after a boss battle is to stand on the point that the gold spawns from during the boss death animation. Rewinding time also brings them back for a second chance of collecting them. |
Blinx 2: Masters of Time and Space
"In some places you can sweep up gold, silver, or copper coins. They won’t give you Time Controls, but you can use them to buy new weapons and other gear at the Shop in the Time Factory."
- Blinx 2: Masters of Time and Space game manual Unlike in the previous game, gold now appears as copper, silver and gold coins; these coins being worth 5G, 8G and 10G respectively. However, like the previous game, the ways to use and find gold stays the same; gold can be found in stages, usually out in the open or in crates, or can be earned by having extra trash/ammo at the end of a round, and is used to buy new equipment/items/clothing. Though, there are a few additional ways to earn gold, including collecting time crystals for a time control that already has the maximum amount of uses it can carry, killing regular time monsters and Guard Sweepers (Tom Toms only), exchanging time controls for gold after every round (done automatically) or playing Versus Mode with other players. |
